I've purchased Dell Venue 8 Pro (64GB) from somewhere else. nHere are few things one should know before buying it. nn*Its a full fledge PC running 8.1. n*Touch is awesomely responsive, I keep on playing with it with my stylus. Since the day it has come to me.. My Windows Phone and Ipad mini don't get much of my time. n*Colors are awesome.. You would love watching videos on this 8 inch screen. n*This is an important point: It won't connect to PC as it itself is a PC and no two PCs can be connected vis USB. First day, I plugged it into my laptop to transfer some files... I got no response from either of the device. Initially, I was shocked but did research to find that it is reasonable that it, any other PC as a matter of fact, doesn't connect to another PC via USB. n*It opens all pen drives immediately. To connect a pen drive, you will need an OTG cable that converts micro USB male to USB 2.0/3.0 female. (Available in market at 120 rupees). *It opens external hard disk drives too but only those which fetch power from external source. If you want it to open an external hard drive that fetches power from PC/Laptop, you would need to buy a USB Y cable that has one micro USB male to two USB (one male and another female) n*You would love this device if you have a WIndows Phone. The moment you log in, it will sync all your settings etc. Moreover, when I connected my phone to this device, this device shows me missed call and other notifications of my phone.
Embrace this tablet, you will understand its capability. I am not literally undermining android and ios but windows 8.1 actually does so, it is one of a kind product offering you plethora of productivity. It is actually a full desktop which fits into your palm. It runs any desktop software apart from windows 8 apps with live tiles and above of all it comes with licensed Microsoft office 2013. Now coming to Dell hardware, tablet feel is premium, it has a high quality IPS display, battery life is very decent, will give you 10-12 hours at a stretch on high to moderate use. for the price and specifications, it is a sure buy if your budget permits.
I did get it for 20,000 rupees on a cash back offer and have to say this is one of my best purchases ever. This little thing is a full PC with full Windows 8.1. nnPros: n1. Runs Full Windows 8.1 , you can install any software you want. n2. Build Quality is amazing ,the screen is gorgeous and the back material is grippy and well made. n3. Battery life is very good, I am constantly able to reach 8 hours with heavy use playing games asphalt 8, hill climb racing , Uno and watching movies . It served me more than well during my three train journeys. With normal to low use it can easily get through 15 to 18 hours. n4. No lag at all, The Windows Store apps all run amazigly well and the older software like Opera, Notepad++, VLC, Gom Player all just open super fast. I am surprised by how well the bay trail processor is able to handle tasks. n5. The price at which I got was a bargain for such a powerful device. I made the perfect choice over iPad mini which was much costlier and can't do many of the stuff this tablet can. n6. Ohh and before I forget, you get 2 years warranty on the device and I got Office 2013 home and student edition (contains excel, word, powerpoint) worth 5000 INR for freennCons - n1. The device gets warm in one corner when I play games continuously for more than an hour. It doesn't get super hot but it does get warm. n2. Only one MicroUSB port and no Micro HDMI port. I would have like to connect this to my TV or Monitor. There is a solution via Miracast and the device also supports UTB OTG through it's micro USB port but I wanted the HDMI support. n3. Windows Store apps are coming thick and fast but at this point of time it is behind iOS. This is bound to get better but right now it is not a match for iOS apps. Note: YOu can run the millions of Windows software which should mitigate this issue. nnOverall - I say if you want a tablet than can outperform it's price tag and server you very well I'd say go for it.
Value for Money. Have been using it for over 1 months. Initially i took lot of time to switch from android to windows but now I am loving my purchase. The display is really bright, responsive and viewing angle is pretty good. Great battery backup. The device comes in Windows v8.1 OS which comes with an upgradable option to Windows10. There is no problem with low memory (32GB) at all. To upgrade to windows 10 without any issue, you have to do that by Windows Media Creation Tool. Great video playback, even played 1080p( with vlc player).
I am so so confused before purchasing this tab between android or windows. and using more than 2 months.nPro:n1. Very bright screen and gorgeous for view movie and picture. I also win offer dell original folio case. senheiser headphone and sandisk 16GB OTG pendrive.nncon:n1. Only one micro usb (OTG supported)n2. Accessories not available in market.n3.
