I have been using this new device since a month and find it really fabulous. Be it the looks, performance or features, it will not fail to impress you. As for the battery backup (like someone asked for), let me tell you - it doesn't drain off quickly. In a day, I play games on it twice or thrice, make and receive calls, check mails, messages and FB updates all with just one full recharge in the morning. The only issue is that it heats up gradually if you watch videos/play games continuously for prolonged duration. But I guess, this is a normal case with every device. All in all - the Swipe MTV Volt 1000 is value for money!
It works on 2G service of Rogers, Fido and 3G service of Telus and Bell (Canada). If any one wanted to use same phone in India and 2G/3G service in Noth America, this will be a good choice. It works decently on most of the common applications.
It is good. I purchased it for 8999/- (40% off on the original price 14999) during christmas 2013. For 15k its not worth buying but since I got on offer, at 9k price it is efficient and you certainly cant expect much more from it. Till now it has not given any problem in 2 months I used, recently it has started hanging and screen becomes distorted on heavy usage of apps so I have to shut down all apps and restart my tab to make it fine again. If you get to buy this at an offer then only buy otherwise for 15K its not really worth, there are better options available in market, HTC, Karbonn are much better compared to this. Screen size and to see movies or emails or songs this is a good featured tablet. So far I am loving it.
I bought a tablet from swipe on May 2013, the handset developed touch screen issue on November 20th 2013 ( Under warranty period) the handset was send to service centre on 23rd November 2013, till 19th Feb 2013 i have not received my handset back from service, the swipe call centre tell all stories like spares despatche etc everytime i call them to get the status. No one even responses to mails, please dont buy this brand!! they will make your life miserable
Bought this phone in November 2013....nnWas very happy to see the specs of this phablet especially the 1GB RAM and the 4GB internal storage, but got the shock of my life when I saw that only 512 MB could be used for downloading apps.nnShifted as many apps as possible to the 16GB SD card but still within 4 days I started getting storage space running low... some system functions may not run.nnTried talking to SWIPE support for some solution but they don't have any.nnThe biggest drawback of this phone is that it allows you 512 MB for apps and reserves 1.8 GB for data storage which is absolutely useless because one can easily put an external SD card.nnA lot of the cheaper phones say 2GB internal storage and give you the available (after installing system files) storage for downloading apps.nnSWIPE is misleading the public by posting the specs as 4GB internal storage.nnEven the 1GB Ram does not make sense if you cannot install the apps that you want.nThe second drawback is that you just step out into daylight and you cannot see anything on the screen... not even a wee bit... so you have to be in a room to see a phone call, a contact or a message.nnRegret having bought this phablet and would advise anyone who wants to use even just the basic normal apps with a few games, not to go in for this phablet.... or live with a System storage......
