Affordable and flauntable

Acer Liquid Z2 sports a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display which bears a display resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system.

Acer has powered the Liquid Z2 with a 1GHz dual-core processor accompanied by 512MB of RAM. The Liquid Z2 packs a 5MP rear camera and houses within an Internal Memory of 4GB which may be expanded further via Micro SD Card.

On the connectivity front, the Liquid Z2 includes WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB and 3G as its features. It is fueled with a 1300 mAh battery.

Acer Liquid Z2 possesses the most relevant feature that are required to compete efficiently with its competitors. The entry-level pricing makes it a good buying option, if you are looking for an affordable android device. With the bunch of features the Liquid Z2 exhibits, we may expect it to give a tough competition to the Lenovo A60+ that also has a 1GHz processor but runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS.

Acer might be better known for making computers, but every so often it gets bored of churning out laptops and throws a phone into the mix. This time it`s the Liquid Z2. It`s a 3.5-inch Android blower, packing a 320x480-pixel resolution display, a 1GHz single core processor and a 3-megapixel camera. You might be thinking that those are some uninspiring specs and you`d be absolutely right. The Z2 saves it however by costing only £90 SIM-free. Yo...

A budget smartphone that runs Jelly Bean but lets itself down in other areas....

Pros: Runs Jelly Bean out of the box ; Small and very pocketable ; Cheap asking price

    Cons: Wi-Fi issues ; Small, low-res screen ; Short-ish battery life

Verdict: On the plus side, the screen does feel very responsive to touch, so selecting links in the web browser or using pinch to zoom is very snappy....

So the Acer Liquid Z2 is not going to set the mobile world alight, but we quite like it all the same. It`s designed primarily as a first baby step into the smartphone world and comes with some helpful features to make the transition as painless as possible. It`s a fairly dinky little thing to look at and comes with a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 display, 1GHz single-core processor, and a 3MP camera. As a resolutely budget device, it does not feel like a pr...

Pros: Jelly Bean, Responsive, Fast camera, Quick mode,

    Cons: It`s chunky,

Verdict: I tisn`t going to win any awards but we like the Acer Liquid Z2. Check it out if you have a technophobic friend or relative who quakes at the thought of touching anything with silicon inside it. Just don`t tell them it has silicon inside it....
