An efficient notebook
Display and Design
The Acer Aspire V5-571 NX.M1KSI.009 Ultrabook features a 15.6-inch HD LED backlit ACtive Matrix TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. Thanks to the CineCrystal technology that the panel provides extra brightness to make media files look rich.
It is wrapped in a 23mm thick outfit which has a weight of 2.3 kg. The blue finish may not be preferred by all.
Processor and OS
The processor purring under the hood is a 1.7GHz Intel Core i3 from the 2nd generation family. It works in combination with a standard 4GB DDR3 RAM which is a bit surprising in this price range. It can also be expanded up to 8GB through the 2 unused memory slots. The 128MB Intel HD 4000 graphics unit is capable of dealing with simple videos and movies efficiently. It runs on complicated Linux OS
Camera, Storage and Multimedia
The Acer Aspire V5-571 NX.M1KSI.009 Ultrabook flaunts a 1.3MP webcam embedded in the bezel above the display. It meets the storage demands of the user with a standard 500GB SATA hard disk functioning at 5400 rpm.
The DVD RW Writer gives you the scope to store important data on disks and retrieve them when needed. The stereo speakers powered by Dolby Advanced Audio v2.0 are enough to fill a medium sized room with loud and rich sound.
Battery and Connectivity
The Acer Aspire V5-571 NX.M1KSI.009 Ultrabook is fuelled by a 4 cell Li-ion battery which provides up to 5 hours of backup. Connectivity features include Gigabit Ethernet, WLAN, Bluetooth v4.0, 2 USB 2.0 slots, 1 USB 3.0 port HDMI out, multi card reader slot and VGA port.
The Acer Aspire V5-571 NX.M1KSI.009 Ultrabook has not a single feature to justify the tag 'ultrabook'. It is just a simple portable machine within a decent price and some surprising features. The presence of Intel Core i3 processor, 4GB RAM, brilliant webcam, nice speakers, reliable battery and impressive connectivity features is seriously commendable.
