Overall: From a layman - No IT gyan.nnIf you need a budget laptop this is the one. With smartphones and tablets replacing laptops, you'd hardly need a one these days. But some activities are just best done on a laptop. I bought this for my PhD research, blogging and file transfersnThe small 11" screen is enough for the basic work, though I use 27" monitor to connect in case I need to see my boring work bigger.nBattery life is okay, will not last an entire international flight trip, but will be your buddy in domestic trips.nScreen resolution is awesome for the price that you pay, with HD playback. Can totally support 720p, might have some issues with 1080p.nSound quality is good enough for video chatting, no echo issues so far. But I most use my headphones with it.nWindows 8 (up-gradable to 8.1) is obviously better than any other OS you can get. Does not take any getting used to because you know all about this OS already.nLight and very much portable.nnAlthough, the 2 GB RAM does sometimes feel a little too less. Processor works perfectly fine. (This deducts a star).
