Display and Design
The Asus Zenfone 5 A500CG ships with a 5.0-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels which results in a healthy 294ppi pixel density. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla glass from minor scratches and dents. It weighs 145 grams with a waistline of 10.3mm which makes the smartphone quite heavy and thick.
Configuration, Storage and OS
The phone is powered by Intel chipset coupled with PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU and 2GB RAM work in tandem to deliver good 3D gaming experience. An 8GB of internal storage has been provided for storing data, though there is an expandable memory option of up to 64GB via a microSD card.
Android Jelly Bean runs as the operating system.
Camera, Battery and Connectivity
All the photography needs are taken care of with the help of 8MP main camera with autofocus, LED flash and back illuminated sensors. The image quality is further enhanced by the Auto Flash, Continuos Shooting, Digital image stabilization, Exposure compensation, Face detection, Geo tagging, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), ISO control, Touch to focus, White balance presets. A 2MP front camera has also been provided for basic video calling and selfies.
A 2,110mAh li-po non removable battery supplies all the needed juice to the phone. The Connectivity options includes 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and micro USB connectivity.
The Asus Zenfone 5 A500CG comes with very basic specs and mediocre features. The phone is quite expensive with no such special features, so if you are looking for a phone within this range then there are better alternatives than this one.
