Google has acknowledged the bug is in the Wi-Fi Networking module of its mobile operating system. It says if advanced user connects to Wi-Fi Network specifying Domain name, the operating system will not be resolving the host name if the domain name is not changed to host name.

As Android is an open platform, developers can test all the new versions and report issues, if any, to Google. After the reports Google Android team can work on the issues and come out with fixes in the next or upcoming Android update.
