The Indian smartphone market is full of devices ranging from 3-inch to 6-inch display sizes and the latest addition is a 4.5-inch smart device that has arrived from the house of Karbonn mobiles.

The new addition to the range of devices from Karbonn, the A12 has been spotted selling from online retailers such as Flipkart and Saholic recently. While the price for the device in a black colour option on Flipkart lists as Rs. 7990, the price for the A12 smartphone at Saholic can be read as Rs. 7699. However, the availability status for a white coloured Karbonn A12 smartphone has been listed as coming soon on Flipkart.

Talking about the specifications, the A12 sports a 4.5-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display which exhibits a display resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system this Dual-SIM device has got itself powered with a 1GHz processor assisted by 512MB of Ram to deliver a buttery smooth performance. It boasts a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash along with a 0.3MP front-facing camera for video-calling. The other specifications of the device includes a 4GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB via Micro SD Card, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 1800 mAh battery.

Karbonn is not the only Indian tech manufacturer to come forward with big sized smart devices. Several other Indian manufacturers such as Micromax and Lava have also managed well to grab a major share of the pie in the segment but with the competitive pricing around Rs. 7500 we may surely expect the Karbonn Smart A12 to give a tough competition to the Micromax A68 Smarty 4.0 and Lava Xolo A500 both offering Dual-SIM support at a less price point.
