|December 21 2012 |Tablets

As per the rumors, Google was scheduled to launch a $99 Nexus tablet in its October Android event. However, nothing like this was launched which left a million of tablet fans disappointed.

Probably the disappointed fans have a reason to rejoice now, $99 tablet is talk of the town again. This Picasa image is probably a benchmarking result of the cheap Nexus tablet. And guess what? If latest reports are to be believed, emerging markets like India could be among the first markets to get this tablet in the market. This seems quite feasible as the Sub-5K segment is flooded with tablet makers and this move of Google can change the game for sure.

Coming on specifications, $99 Nexus Tablet might be running on Android 4.2 powered by 1GHz processor complemented by 400MHz Mali GPU and 1GB Ram. The 7 inch screen could sport a resolution of 1024x600 pixels.

Nothing is official now so take it as a grain of salt. Stay tuned for further updates.
