Acer officially announced the release of new Acer Iconia Tab A200 with NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. According to press release, the device comes pre-loaded with Android HoneyComb and an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich follows in January 2012. Acer claims that they have started shipping the units to select countries running Android OS v3.2.
The new Acer Iconia Tab A200 comes with a 10.1 inch WXGA Capacitive touchscreen display with a standard 1280 x 800 px resolution. This slate powered with 1Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core A9 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB/16GB of internal storage. The device comes with an external memory slot with MicroSD capability for additional storage. The tablet looks a bit hefty with measurements 260 x 175 x 12.4 mm and weighs 720grams. Acer ICONIA Tab A200 comes with customized UI layer called Acer Ring. This ring helps the user in switching between tasks by creating easy-access apps from any screen. Iconia Tab A200 comes with Acer's Clear.fi which is Acer’s own DLNA solution to connect, share and watch media between devices.
Acer Iconia Tab A200 sports a 2.0 Megapixel camera on the front side and there is no rear-camera fixed. The device houses a USB port for hooking up the devices and dongles. The tab comes with the connectivity options like Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and 3.5mm standard audio jack. Acer Tab A200 comes in Titanium Gray or Metallic Red colors. The pricing and availability is unclear for this time.
