Acer has followed suit of many other companies and has announced the Android 4.0.3 update for its Iconia Tab A500. This update will come through OTA and has 395MB size. These updates have already been released in the US and Europe. This 10.1 inch Tegra powered tablet was released in April, 2011 with an Android v3.0 operating system is all set for an ice cream sandwich update as was promised by the company at the time of its launch.

These updates will come to your Iconia tablet through OTA notification. As soon as you get the notification follow its instructions and get the update. You can also get them manually by going to the settings of your tablet and looking for updates. Pull out the Android 4 update from there.

Android 4.0 will bring improved performance and a host of other features for your tablet and applications like the People application. Also some UI changes will be incorporated. This tablet was priced at Rs.31,500 at the time of its release.

It is also rumored in the tech market that the ice cream sandwich updates are not working for some devices. However if small niggles appear in your tablet it can easily be corrected. There is no need to panic in such situations. Lets see how the updates work on Iconia. However the heat of the Indian summers is sure to cool down a little with ice cream sandwich updates.
