“Acer has launched its latest high-end Android smartphone and tablet”
In addition to two mid-range and one entry level Android phone, Acer has also introduced its latest high-end smartphone, the Acer X1 along with the Iconia Tab 8 tablet. Both the new offerings are powered by Android 4.4 KitKat.
The Acer Liquid X1 is a 5.7-inch phablet with a 720p resolution. It is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek CPU, 2GB of RAM and a 2,700mAh battery. It offers a 13MP rear shooter with LED flash and a 2MP ront camera. There is 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable using a microSD card slot. Connectivity features include 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The company has included the Acer Zoom Fit feature in the phone, which adjusts the UI to a 4-inch size for single-handed usage.
The Acer Iconia Tab 8 features an 8-inch 1080p display. It has a quad-core Intel Atom processor under the hood along with 2GB of RAM. It comes in 16GB/ 32GB internal storage variants with a microSD card for memory expansion. Other features include rear and front cameras with unspecified resolution, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB connectivity options.
Similar to the other new Acer devices, the Liquid X1 will go on sale in global markets in Q3 this year. The Iconia Tab 8 will be available in European markets for 199 Euros starting in July. The company will provide more details about the availability and global pricing at Computex 2014.
