Affordable Sub $100 Tablets on the rise. ATab joins the race.

|March 3 2012 |Affordable Tablets

Ever since the Aakash tablet set the country ablaze with a dream of owning a computing device at just Rs. 2,500, there has been quite a few alternatives. More recently even the state-owned BSNL joined the race with the launch of Panta Tpad IS 701r at Rs. 3,500. Now, a cloud-based education company called Acrossworld has announced a Rs. 5,000 tablet by partnering with GoTech (manufacturers of FunTab tablets). Christened as ATab, this is advanced touch-screen tablet powered by Android. Underneath the cover you will find 1.1 Ghz processor, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of internal storage space, Expandable memory upto 16GB, built-in WiFi support and support for 3G USB Dongle. The 7 inch touch-screen provides satisfactory viewing experience.

ATab will be retailed at Rs. 5,000. Along with the hardware, Acrossworld offers a 3-year unlimited access to their proprietary learning platform called EducationBridge absolutely FREE of COST.

Already over 12 educational institutes across the country have expressed strong interest in procuring this tablet for their students. Acrossworld will introduce 10,000 tablets initially and will supply more tablets based on the demand.

It’s very heartening to see companies trying to offer a overall experience and not just a low-cost hardware at affordable prices! We wish Acrossworld very good luck.
