Aircel coming up with 4G services

Aircel is readying its plan of launching TDD-LTE service (4G) services in India.

Actually, the launch was scheduled to be held by the end of last year in Chennai, but for some reasons the launch did not kick start as planned. It may be launched sometime early this year.

Aircel possesses 4G spectrum in eight circles, and may start rolling it out over LTE TDD network shortly.

Aircel is well known for its innovative data products and has invested heavily in BWA spectrum, showcasing its commitment to offer some of the leading services in the country. It takes an entire ecosystem in place, together with handsets, new optic fibre networks, to successfully roll out 4G experience.

Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu including Chennai, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, North East, Jammu and Kashmir are the eight circles in which Aircel has 4G spectrum.

It also has 3G spectrum in 13 circles. Those are Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu (including Chennai), Punjab, U.P (East), Kerala, Kolkata, Bihar and Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, North East, and J&k.

Apart from offering mobile 4G services through dongles and devices, Aircel will enter into customer homes with broadband Internet, broadcasting, healthcare, video on demand and education too.

Aircel is presently engaged in the process of ironing out three issues of 4G handset availability apart from installing of new electronics at their cell and launching of the new optical fiber. Work is in progress, and very shortly the launching date would be revealed.
