Aircel crosses the 50 million subscribers mark

Aircel is a leading mobile network provider and the Indian mobile subsidiary of Malaysia’s Maxis Communications. The company aimed in increasing the pace of its subscriber growth by the end of 2010 and now able to manage the goal. Aircel celebrates its 50 million subscriber mark.

There were some news covered earlier stating "Gurdeep Singh, Aircel’s chief operating officer, noting: We are looking at 50 million customers by December 2010.We will have 30 million by the end of this year 2009. It been a long struggle but we are glad that consumers have liked our approach in bringing the internet on mobile."

The company aiming at the user base of 50 million, successfully handled to crack the target quoted. The initial operations were commenced in South India and establised a leadership from there extending itself to Pan India operator. Aircel is now operating in 23 telecom circles throughout India.
