Originally the news came from The Verge tech site and it has cited multiple sources supporting the fact. The site has also exhibited couple of screenshots to substantiate its claim. Users can view the Office documents free of cost.

Microsoft Office Apps will be made available as free apps for both the platforms.

Microsoft Office productivity suite apps can be availed as free downloads for the Apple iOS and Google Android, but there is a condition that users need to login into it using Microsoft account. The access will be only for basic viewing feature.

One would need the Office 365 subscription to edit and take out the best out of the productivity suite.

For basic editing on the move, the Office apps relative to the iOS and Android play a vital role. These apps will do, just enough, but no way near the flexibility and freedom offered by the Office suite for the desktop.

Earlier report states that the Microsoft Office Suite is scheduled for release by early 2013 after public availability of the Office 2013 suite.

To summarize finally, Microsoft is testing the Office productivity mobile suite apps for Apple iOS and Google Android platforms. These apps will require Office 365 subscription.

So guys, cross your fingers and wait for this system.
