Android Phones Get Official Video Chat with Android 2.3.4

Google announced the official video chat for the first time for Android powered smartphones. The firmware update to Android OS v2.3.4 will allows the users to have video chats over phone network and through Wi-Fi. Google Nexus S and Nexus S 4G owners are the first to get this update and the other Android smartphones in the later part.


However, this requires a front facing camera and Nexus One is still in bugs fixing stage. Video chat is possible with Apple iPhone 4 and Google added this feature after a long time. Video chats work on Gmail and other Google talk ready pages. Till now Android smartphone users have been using Qik Application for video calls.
