Apple Files Case Against Samsung For ‘Copying’ iPhone, iPad

|April 19 2011 |Samsung, Industry News, Apple iPhone, Apple iPad

Apple has filed a lawsuit against South Korea’s Samsung Electronics for allegedly copying the designs of its iPhone and iPad designs. In a lawsuit filed at the US District Court for the Northern District of California, the iPhone-maker claims that Samsung’s Galaxy range of smartphones and tablet copy the iPhone and iPad, and further the designs violate its trademarks and patents.

The lawsuit said, “Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smartphone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple’s technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products.”  In addition, Reuters quoted Apple’s spokesman as saying, "This kind of blatant copying is wrong."

In addition to this, Samsung released a statement saying, "Samsung will respond actively to Apple's legal action taken against us through appropriate legal measures to protect our intellectual property."
