If the latest report is to be believed, then get ready to purchase the next generation iPad (iPad 5) tablet next year in March, which will be thinner in size and lighter in weight compared to the present one.

The information of iPad 5 comes from a Japanese blog Mac o Takara. It confirms that Apple has plans of releasing its fifth-generation iPad by March 2012. However, it has to be taken note that Mac o Takara is not reliable source in reporting any prospective Apple developments.

It is learned the iPad 5 will sport a 9.7-inch display and will have a new appearance similar to that of iPad Mini, featuring black/slate and white/silver designs.

Isn’t the early release of next-generation iPad a question to be put upon? Why not, but observers believe Apple wants to grab the potential market of Google’s Nexus 7 and Microsoft’s Surface tablets. These two are the major rivals of iPads.

Mac o Takara says the iPad 5 will be a lot like the iPad mini as it will be smaller by 4 mm in height, 17 mm in width and 2 mm in depth.

The site also reports that the upcoming iPad Mini will sport a 7.9-inch Retina display and faster A6X processor.
