The latest device to receive the Android Jelly Bean update will be the Asus Transformer Pad TF300, which received the 4.2 version update. This will be the first non nexus tablet from the company to receive the Jelly Bean update. The update will be rolled out in phases over-the-air (OTA), starting with Asus’ US customers.
The Transformer Pad TF300 was launched in direct competition to the iPad 2 by its manufacturer. The device came with the Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich operating system. It has a 10.1 inch IPS LCD touchscreen display with 1280x800 pixels resolution.
The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor with 1GB of RAM. The device comes in 16GB and 32GB internal memory versions. Both versions have 64 GB expandable memory option via micro SD card. The device has a 8MP rear camera and a 1.2 MP front camera. It houses a 16.5Wh Li-polymer battery.
The Transformer Pad TF300 is one of Asus’ most successful devices. The company has promised the Jelly Bean updates to its other tablets including Transformer Pad Infinity, MeMo Pad Smart 10, and MeMo Pad by the second quarter of the year.
The latest update will allow the device users to keep their own settings, apps, and app data. The Transformer Pad TF300 offers really great features at an affordable price, the latest update will enhance the user interface and will bring in a host of fresh applications and Android features with it such as a new improved keyboard with gesture typing, better and faster interface, photosphere camera and improved Google search to name a few.
