"Got questions about the ASUS ZenFone 3? We've answered 'em all!"
Initially announced at Computex in May, the ASUS ZenFone 3 series of smartphones was launched in India a few weeks ago. The smartphones that landed in here include the ZenFone 3 (first impressions), ZenFone 3 Deluxe (first impressions), ZenFone 3 Ultra (first impressions) and ZenFone 3 Laser (first impressions), all covering various price points and bringing different features to the table. The ZenFone 3 is a mid-level offering, and comes in as a big upgrade to the ZenFone 2 (review), both in terms of design and specifications. We've got the device in our labs, and here we're going to answer your most frequently asked questions.
ASUS has made big changes to the design of the ZenFone 3. Unlike the ZenFone 2, which featured a removable back panel and plastic body, the ZenFone 3 is a unibody smartphone with a metal frame and glass sandwich design. The smartphone features polished chamfers and rounded edges, and gets ASUS' signature concentric circle design at the rear. Both the front and the rear feature 2.5D glass that dips towards the frame, adding a stylish factor to the design.
Like we mentioned earlier, the ZenFone 3 comes in 32GB and 64GB storage options. On the former, you get about 23.5GB to use out of the box. The storage on both variants is expandable up to 2TB, and you also get 100GB of free Google Drive storage for two years with the phone.
The ZenFone 3 features a fingerprint sensor at the rear. Additionally, you can tap and hold the fingerprint sensor to answer an incoming call, double tap it when the phone is unlocked to open the camera, and tap on the sesnor when the camera is open to take a photo.
Inside the retail box, you'll find the smartphone itself, along with a USB Type-C cable, 5v/2A wall charger with a removable two-pin plug, SIM ejector tool, documentation and a wired headset with spare silicone tips. Head over to our unboxing for more.
