BSNL launches 3G data plans for iPad in select circles.

|January 24 2011 |Apple iPad, 3G, 3G Data Cards

6 weeks ago, BSNL launched the 3G data plans for Apple devices such as iPad and iPhone along with a micro-SIM Kit. Looks like BSNL has launched another kick-off campaign for the same. The data plans have not changed much since we reported last time. There is more clarity this time about which telecom circles this 3G data plans would be available. The telecom circles targeted in the first round are Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, UP (East), UP (West), Chennai and Kolkata telecom circles. The rest of the circles can expect this facility by February 1st week.

You can shell out Rs.999 and get unlimited 3G data experience on your iPad both on prepaid and postpaid. For pre-paid the validity is 1 month. In the limited plan, you will be charged 1 paise per 10 KB (or in other words Rs. 1 per additional MB or Rs. 1000 per additional GB!). Expensive when you compare it with broadband plans I must say! But sure the rates should come down as 3G adoption goes up...!
