The latest category of products hitting the Indian markets from neighbor China will be low to mid range smartphones. Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Jiyau is all set to debut in India with three new Android devices, heating up the competition further in the process.
The three phone will include an entry level phone priced at around Rs. 3000, a dual core device priced around Rs.8,000 a quad core mobile handset priced at Rs. 9,000.
The quad core phone is titled Jiyau G4 and will be launched in two versions. It sports a 4.7 inch Gorilla Glass 2 touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixel display resolution. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core Mediatek chipset with 2GB of RAM. It runs on the Android 4.1 JellyBean operating system.
The G4 sports a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 3 megapixel front camera. The device runs on a 3000 mAh battery.
Incidentally, the Jiyau G4 is also the first quad core Android by the company. Jiayu G4 is the first quad core Android phone offered by Jiayu, the Chinese mobile manufacturer.
It will be interesting to see how the new entrant will fare in the Indian markets, especially considering the great performance the local Indian manufacturers are posting with their competitive offerings in this segment. Of course, India has a huge market for low range smartphones so there is room for the Chinese manufacturer to elbow in, but its survival is another matter.
Smartphones have become a necessity in today's digital age. Be it browsing the web or connecting with you...
