The very appreciated manufacturer behind the Aakash Tablets, DataWind has launched a new Tablet PC which has got its name dubbed as UbiSlate 7C+ Edge.

The newly launched UbiSlate 7C+ Edge tablet is available for sale exclusively from online retailer Snapdeal.com with a price tag of Rs. 5,999. It boasts a 7-inch Capacitive touchscreen display which has got a display resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The smart device runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream sandwich) operating system and gets powered with a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. The Android tablet flaunts a VGA front camera for video calling along with an internal memory of 4GB which may be further expanded externally up to 32GB via Micro SD Card. The connectivity features of the UbiSlate 7C+ Edge include USB, WiFi, GPS, 3G and a SIM-card slot. It has got a 3200 mAh battery.

In the Indian tech market, DataWind is already facing a tough phase due to the staggered supply it has been offering for the Aakash-2 tablets. The tablet production issue is on a verge where Government of India may consider to discontinue the production of India first inborn tablet project. The reports suggest that DataWind until now, has supplied only 17,100 tablets out of the total 1 lakh tablets order by the Indian Government.

Presently, Indian Government has put on hold, the Aakash-3 tablet project. Thus, it still remains to be seen how DataWind manages to deliver the Aakash-2 ordered tablets along with the newly launched UbiSlate 7C+ edge tablet PC on time.
