Dell’s on a launch spree, not just the Android based and Windows based Venue tablets, it has also announced three XPS ultrabooks. The XPS line has always been considered as the best combination of power and design, and these devices are no exception.
The ultrabooks are constructed from Carbon Fiber and machined aluminum giving them strength. They’ve a touchscreen display equipped with edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass NBT for protection against scratches and minor knocks. They also have an HD webcam for video calling purposes as well as HD audio with Waves MaxxAudio Pro technology. They also have a full sized backlit keyboard with gesture supporting touchpad. They run on Windows 8 Operating System.
Dell’s XPS 11 marries both the tablet and laptop into one with its 360 degree convertible design. It’s weight starts from 1.13 kg and thickness in the range of 11-15 mm.
It features a 11.6” display with QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels supporting wide viewing angles of 160°. In terms of processor, it has option of Intel’s Haswell i3 and i5 processors and a 4 GB DDR3 RAM. It has SSD storage of 80/ 128/ 256 GB. It has in-built 40WHr battery, which is not removable. It has all the usual ports and connectivity features like 2 USB 3.0 port, 1 HDMI port, 1 headset jack, SD card reader, Dual band Wi-Fi, Wi-Di, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. It has HD webcam for video calling needs.
It also comes with optional Dell Active stylus allowing to make full use of touchscreen.
Dell XPS 13 has a 13.3 inches IPS display with 1080 p (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and viewing angles of 178°. It also comes with an optional touchscreen. The weight of the laptop starts from 1.34 kg and thickness varies between 6-18 mm depending upon the configuration. For processors, it allows choice between Intel’s 4th generation i3, i5 and i7 processor complemented by a 4/ 8 GB RAM. It has SSD storage of 128 GB or 256 GB.
It has 6-cell non-removable Li-ion battery. For connectivity, it has dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Wireless Display, 2 USB 3.0 ports, mini DisplayPort and headphone jack. An HD webcam serves the video calling purposes.
Apart from Windows 8 OS, users can also choose different Windows 7 flavors.
XPS 15 comes with 15.6 inch display with two resolution of either 1920 x 1080 pixels or whooping 3200 x 1800 pixels. The display has wide viewing angle of 160°. It has starting weight of 2.01 kg and thickness between 8-18 mm.
It’s powered by Intel’s latest i3 (up to 3.4 GHz) or i5 processor (up to 3.6 GHz). RAM is either 8 GB or 16 GB with vast storage options- 500 GB + 32 GB SSD/ 1 TB + 32 GB SSD/ 512 GB SSD. It also features an optional 2 GB dedicated NVidia GeForce graphics card. It has in-built battery of 61Whr or 91Whr (for 512 GB SSD model only). For connectivity, it offers Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Di and NFC. It has 3 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, 1 mini DisplayPort, 1 HDMI port, Ethernet port and SD card reader.
The base models of XPS 11 and XPS 13 will start from USD 999.99 and will be available to purchase from November. The XPS 15 will start from USD 1499.99 and will be available from 18th October.
