Alcatel is working on a new smartphone in the Idol series dubbed as Alcatel Idol X+ which is expected to arrive with flagship features like octa-core processor & 13 MP camera. The first images of the phone are leaked along with some information about the internals of the device. According to the reports, the phone is powered by a MediaTek processor built on eight-cores, which is world’s first true octa-core CPU.

The leaked images of the phone suggest that it will be carrying quite thinner design like Huawei Ascend P6 smartphone. The phone is already officially confirmed by the TCL Corporation, the company behind the smartphones from Alcatel.

Leaked specifications of the phone indicate that it will be featuring a full HD 1080p touch display. Performance of the octa-core processor in the phone will be supported by 2 GB of RAM. It will be having the same 13 MP rear shooter that was present in its predecessor, Alcatel Idol X.

The Alcatel Idol X was introduced earlier this year with pretty impressive specifications. It has a 5 inch full HD 1080p resolution touch display with 441 ppi pixel density. It comes with 16 GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 32 GB. The phone is running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, so it is highly expected that its successor will arrive with Android 4.4 KitKat version.

TCL Corporation has confirmed that it will first start selling the phone in the Chinese market in the partnership with JD.com online retailer. However, price and availability dates of the device are not out yet, but we will keep you posted if anything new pops up.
