Very soon, you will be able to play high-end Gameloft games on your feature phone.

MediaTek, which offers smartphone solutions, has entered into a partnership with Gameloft, a mobile gaming major, under which Gameloft will develop games for smartphones and feature phones running on MediaTek’s chipset.

Now feature phones will be able to run high end mobile games that were previously supported only on smartphones. Gameloft is the developer behind several successful games like Asphalt, Adventures of Tintin, Nova 3 and Modern Combat 3.

Indian users have reason to rejoice because the Mediatek platform is already present on most existing feature phones manufactured by Indian companies like Micromax, Lava and Spice. Its upcoming MT6255 platform, which will feature the Gameloft games, will power all the upcoming feature phone to be launched by the Indian handset majors.

Its newest single chip solution, the MT6255 will be pre-loaded with the awesome Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, Gameloft's most popular racing game till now, including trial versions of 3 more best selling games such as Assassin's Creed Revelations, Block Breaker 3, and Brain Challenge 3 : Think Again!- totally free of cost!

In fact, the gaming company has already started the process of allocating special research and development teams in China, France and Vietnam, and the necessary resources required for developing the games to be included in the MediaTek platform. The partnership between Mediatek and Gameloft will result in similar games being released for other MediaTek's platforms too.

Gaming is indeed one of the fastest growing markets and after all, 95% of the mobile phones sold in India are feature phones based on MediaTek’s platform. Thus, this partnership is guaranteed to enhance the entertainment options available to India’s feature phone users.
