"The next generation Google Nexus smartphone is officially priced at Rs 28,999"
Following the revelation of the next generation Google Nexus smartphone through Google Play store, the Nexus 5 couple of days back, online seller Snapdeal has made the device available for prebooking. The device has been priced at Rs 28,999 with an expected date of delivery starting 25 of Nov. Interested users can pay and upfront amount of Rs 999 and can book their Nexus 5 smartphone online. Rest of the amount can be paid upfront once the device is made available or can also be paid with easy EMI options.
The Google Nexus 5 features a 4.95 inch display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and a 445 PPI pixel density. It's powered with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.26 GHz coupled with Adreno 330 GPU with a 450 MHz graphics engine.
In terms of memory, the device has a 2 GB RAM and a 16GB of onboard storage. Unfortunately like the predecessor the Nexus 5 also does not support expandable memory which means users will have to be content with the inbuilt storage. Although, the camera in Nexus 5 is still in singular numbers, it still is a pretty good camera that now offers Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) capability as well at 8 megapixels.
New version operating system, Android 4.4 KitKat also brings functionalities like SMS integration in hangouts, always on listen mode, full screen mode, and more. There is a 1.3 MP camera at the front that will be useful for video calling.
While the Nexus 5 is yet to start selling in the market, retailers and online sellers are already pushing the stock of older Nexus 4 smartphones at lower prices, so if you are planning to buy the Nexus 4, it would be advisable to wait until the Nexus 5 starts retailing as you might get an even better deal.
