Google Nexus 7 on Sale on Play Store for Rs. 15,999

|March 26 2013 |Tablets

The low profile Google tablet, the Nexus 7 is now available on the Google Play Store at a price of Rs. 15, 999.

The Nexus 7 will be the first Nexus device to be sold online, via the Google Play Store in the country. The 16GB, Wi-Fi only version of the device will be shipping from 5th April onwards.

The Google Nexus 7 was launched in November last year, in collaboration with Asus, but never really hit the Indian markets. The device was available on the Croma online store for a short time, but it was removed from the product list thereafter. Asus later released a statement saying that the Nexus 7 would be released in the Indian markets after a few more months.

The Nexus 7 is a 7-inch tablet with an LED- backlit IPS LCD Capacitive touchscreen display with 1280x800 pixels resolution. The device has a scratch resistant Corning glass display screen. Running on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, the device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core Cortex A-9 processor with 1GB of RAM. The device houses a 1.2MP front camera that can be used for video calling at 720 pixels resolution. Its connectivity options beside Wi-Fi are NFC, GPS and Bluetooth. It runs on a powerful 4325 mAh non removable battery that offers backup of up to 10 hours.

Now that the Nexus 7 has gone on sale on the Play Store, we may expect other devices by Google to be available on the Indian version of Google henceforth.
