HCL launches two new tablets - ME U1, MyEdu

HCL Infosystems launched today two new tablets and its first Ice Cream Sandwich tablets in India - HCL ME U1 and HCL MyEdu.

Run on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the HCL ME U1 is a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen tablet offering 800x480 pixels resolution. It has 1GHz processor, 512MB DDR3 RAM and 0.3 megapixel front camera.

With the purchase of MyEdu Tab you get for free content, memory card, educational apps and NCERT books.

Price of HCL MyEdu:

The HCL MyEdu-K12 Tablet is priced Rs 11,499 where as the MyEdu-HE Tab is priced just Rs 9,999.

Both the tablets are expected to hit the stores next month.

At Rs 8,000 it seems the tablet is worth buying for low budget users. Moreover, it is 3G compatible, which is economical than Wi-Fi in India. Well, the education purpose tablets are a bit costlier compared to claims made by Indian HRD Minister Kapil Sibal to bring Aakash II students tablet for around Rs 2,000.
