The HP EliteBook 8770w workstation is a massive performing device. With 8 pounds of weight the EliteBook provides a tough and durable design that comes with the assurance of dependability. However, this sturdy design also affects the device’s portability. The workstation promises superior performance as it comes armed with an Intel Core i7-3720QM 2.6GHz processor and AMD FirePro M4000 dedicated graphics that are capable of handling most work requirements. This great machine from the renowned name of HP comes packed with a beautiful display along with great keyboard and touchpad that makes for an enjoyable computing.

The HP EliteBook 8770w is a portable PC and is designed to withstand the rough handling that it might go through during travel. It sports a large frame with a protective smudge resistance alloy covering and a black protective plastic that outlines the display and the bottom of the chassis.

The HP EliteBook 8770w has a grey and black finish that is sober and classy, perfect for business. Moreover, the metallic finish is fingerprint resistant that is helps it look clean even after extensive use.

However, as a notebook the EliteBook 8770w does have some weight issues with 7.66-lbs and its large 16.4" x 10.7" x 1.47" dimensions also will not fit in all carrying cases. But for its size and weight the HP EliteBook, certainly offers exceptional build quality. The entire metal and plastic body is durable to sustain a lot of pressure matched with an equally tough display screen.

The HP EliteBook 8770w also provides easy access to its components that make upgrading this notebook easy. The two push tabs at the bottom of the chassis of the notebook provides access to all the components of the device.

Performance

Obviously you get a whole range of varied configuration for the HP EliteBook 8770w, thus covering everything is actually beyond the scope of this review. The unit used for this review runs on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, fitted with a 17.3" LED-backlit HD+ WVA anti-glare display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. It is powered by the Intel Core i7-3720QM 2.6 GHz as well as AMD FirePro M4000 graphics and a memory of 8GB RAM. The great device came with a limited 3yr and 1yr Warranty Options with the base price tag of $1650.

The HP EliteBook 8770w offers a very good level of standard performance. The awesome combination of the third generation Intel Core Processor and 8GB RAM was capable of handling all sorts of standard business computing as well as some complicated tasks. However, if is compared with all the desktop replacements and notebooks, the EliteBook scores a little above average. The device is capable of handling multi-tasking easily without hanging or any performance dip.

Apart from its superior processor and RAM capacity, the EliteBook 8770w also comes braced with the AMD FirePro M4000, which allows the machine to run graphic intensive functions in a good performing level. Thus, for an average user the EliteBook 8770w is more than sufficient.
