HP ElitePad 900 First Impression

|March 24 2013 |Tablets, HP

HP has released its ElitePad 900 tablet in India and as the name goes, it is meant for the business class users who basically go for an Apple iPad and its advantage of merging a laptop and a tablet in a compact package.

As it is meant for the business class, the new ElitePad 900 could not look cheap and its maker has given it a very graceful appeal indeed. Its machined aluminum body gives it a premium look with an easy to hold design, and at 680gram it is as light as the iPad.

The tablet features a 10.1-inch LCD, highly responsive touchscreen with 1280x800p resolution. It provides awesome viewing angles with the help of the IPS panel renders actual colours even at steep angles. The ElitePad 900 is available in two variants. While one runs on Windows 8 with 32GB memory, the other offers 64GB storage running Windows 8 Pro operating system. Both variants are powered by a superfast 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Atom CloverTrail processor with 2GB RAM.

The ElitePad 900 sports an 8 mp rear camera with LED flash and a front facing camera that can record HD videos, which is great for video conferences. The tablet comes with a powerful battery that can run for up to 10 hours on a single charge.

The HP ElitePad 900 provides 3G connectivity and comes with a SIM card slot at its rear. It offers smooth internet connectivity over 3G and also offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.

The ElitePad 900 lacks a USB port and card reader and these are made up by the three accessories that you can buy, namely, a docking station-cum-battery pack, a keyboard cover and a hard cover-cum-casing. These provide USB ports, a HDMI port as well as card reader. As the device or its accessories don’t come for cheap, the ElitePad 900 is not meant for the general mass.
