HP Launches Dreamscreen - Device Made in India

HP unveiled DreamScreen 400, a digital device with a icon based, touch enabled intuitive interface which brings a host of latest and pioneering services few days back.


HP DreamScreen is designed to offer simplicity and relevance as it enables users to access the most-relevant and best-in-class content, affordably through the Internet ‚ÄĒ like education, video chat, music, movies, news, browsing, temple darshans and much more for a truly interactive, engaging and enriched connected experience. HP DreamScreen comes with complete Entertainment package which includes Music, Bollywood Movies, Bollywood TV and Games. It also addresses the Lifestyle and Education needs of the users and offers Live Darshan, Education, News, Daily Astrology, web browser and an e-book on Weddings. The result: children, parents and grandparents benefit together on a single platform. Families can connect with anyone on the web by just dialing a number through video calling capabilities, watch Bollywood movies on the device or on a DVD/ VCD, listen to Bollywood and spiritual songs, play games, book train and air tickets and do a lot more. Children can access rich, interactive multi-media content that mirrors the curriculum followed in their schools.

To deliver a top-class experience, HP has collaborated with various content providers and service providers such as Airtel and Tata for Internet connection, Apalya for Darshan, Bill Desk for paying bills online, Edurite for education, Hungama for music and movies, India Games for thrilling games, India Today for media content, Music Today for Music, NDTV for news and Daily Astrology, Tata Communications for Live Darshan and Yatra for booking Air and Train travel.

The genesis for Dreamscreen started with the question "Why is PC Pentration low in India? Is it because of affordability or because complexity of the product?". HP did a survey and figured out that it is more do with the complexity of the product. So, HP then sat on the quest of figuring out how to make it simple. They surveyed 2600 people and families across India to understand the barriers for usage. Based on the findings of the survey, they have come up with the product called DreamScreen. Touch is the most intuitive way to access information. So, Dreamscreen has touch as the main input point. HP also aimed to make this device appeal to multi-generations right from grandfather to grandson!

The HP DreamScreen will be available beginning November 25th across 700 outlets across 60 cities in the country at a special price point of Rs. 19,999 plus taxes, exclusively for Airtel and Tata subscribers.
