HP launches Pavilion 15, HP 15 and Envy 17 Leap Motion TouchSmart laptops

HP launches a range of next generation notebooks in India.

In addition to the Slate 6 and Slate 7 voice-calling tablets and the Windows 8.1-based Omni 10 slate, HP also launched three new laptops at its press event today – the Pavilion 15, HP 15 and Envy 17 Leapmotion Touchsmart.

HP Pavilion 15-n209tx 


The HP Pavilion 15 offers a 15.6-inch diagonal HD BrightView LED back-lit display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. It is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor, Intel HD Graphics 4400 and 4GB DDR3L SDRAM. It also packs in an NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M 2GB graphics card. Other features include 1TB SATA hard drive, SuperMulti DVD burner, multi-gesture touchpad, island-style keypad. Connectivity options include  two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, multi-format SD card reader and HP TrueVision HD webcam with dedicated dual digital microphones.

HP 15 D008TU 

The HP 15 offers the same 15.6-inch display present in the HP Pavilion 15, and is powered by a 2GHz Intel Pentium N3510 processor, paired with Intel HD graphics and 2GB DDR3 RAM. Connectivity-wise it offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, HDMI, USB 3.0 and VGA ports. Additional features of the HP 15 include a multi-gesture touchpad, dual speakers, HP TrueVision HD webcam with integrated microphone, an island-style keyboard, 500GB SATA hard disk and a SuperMulti DVD burner.

HP Envy 17  J102TX Leap Motion TouchSmart

The HP Envy 17 Leap Motion TouchSmart runs Windows 8.1 and offers a 17.3-inch BrightView full HD LED display with multi-touch support. It packs in a fourth-gen Intel Core i7 processor with TurboBoost 2.0 upto 3.2GHz. Its chipset is based on enhanced SpeedStep and Intel Hyper-Threading technology. The performance is further boosted by an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 4GB discrete DDR3 graphics and 8GB DDR3L RAM upgradable up to 16GB. Storage is taken care of by a 1TB SATA 5400ROM hard drive with HP ProtectSmart HDD protection.

Additional features include Beats Audio, quad speakers with internal subwoofer, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 +HS, HDMI, four USB 3.0 ports, fingerprint reader and Kensington lock slot. It also comes with HP SimplePass identity protection, 3D Drive Guard HDD protection and Norton Internet Security 2014 with 60 days free trial.

Priced at Rs 29,995 and Rs 51,825 respectively, the HP 15 and HP Pavilion 15 TouchSmart target budget to mid-range buyers. The HP Envy 17 Leap Motion TouchSmart has a premium price tag of Rs 1,18,711. The company hasn't yet revealed when it plans to start selling the new laptops.
