HP Slate 7 tablet Preview

|March 10 2013 |Tablets, HP

Like every other mobile device manufacturer present at the Mobile World Congress 2013, Barcelona, the big brand HP is also busy showcasing its Slate 7. The HP Slate 7 is priced at a minimal $169, and is definitely aimed to lock horns with the other inexpensive tablets in the market and spare the costlier variants of Apple and Samsung.

The one of the most amazing feature of this inexpensive tablet is that it prints.

The HP Slate 7 is also very nicely built for its price and runs on a vanilla version Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with some HP apps preloaded in it. However, the tablet has a pretty dim 7-inch, 1,024-by-600 LCD screen surrounded by a very broad bezel. It is also not the lightest in its class. The tablet’s back also looks appealing and it comes with a 3-megapixel camera in the corner. It is loaded with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage space and also has a MicroSD card slot for further memory expansion.

The tablets 1.6-GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor is really functional however, the screen is the downside of the tablet. The HP Slate 7 also features Beats Audio.

The HP Slate 7’s most impressive thing is the fact that it can print. This just doesn’t involve HP's downloadable ePrint app but you can also print from a range of different applications. With this tablet you will also be able to print via Wi-Fi or even by plugging your tablet directly into a printer with a USB cable, which is really impressive.

HP did not give many details about which printers could be plugged directly into the tablet, but said it would not just be HP models. The HP Slate 7 looks like a very promising tablet with printing capabilities for just $169 and it also comes with the big brand name assurance. The HP Slate 7 will be available in the U.S. market from April 2013.
