|March 15 2011 |Industry News, tablet, Location Based Services, HP, Touch-screen, HP webOS

HP is planning to launch the HP TouchPad in Summer. According to CEO Leo Apotheker, HP announced today that the TouchPad will be launched this Summer in the month of June. He commented about TouchPad in HP Summit 2011 earlier today. Though there is no official information about the pricing, experts claim this can be priced at $499 for a 16GB version.  HP TouchPad comes with WebOS from HP.

He also says, "webOS technology is seamless when it comes to working with Windows" and also notes that HP isn't counting out shipping Windows-based tablets again in the future alongside webOS tablets, "we just need the right version of Windows to do that."

HP has a good market share in Personal Computers (Desktops and Laptops). Do this help them in competing with the leader in tablet industry????
