The HTC Butterfly is all set to make its Indian debut by the end of this month at a price of Rs. 44,000. The phone was released in Japan as HTC J Butterfly and was set for a worldwide release in early December, 2012. It has already been released in the Chinese and Taiwanese markets and in the USA as Droid DNA.
The phone has a 5-inch Super LCD 3 Capacitive touch screen with 1920 x 1080 pixels display. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB with microSD card slot. Connectivity options include 4G NFC, Beats Audio, Bluetooth with aptX enabled. The Butterfly is integrated with an 8MP rear camera which can produce pictures of 3264 x 2448 Pixels and videos of 1080p and 2.1MP front front with full HD support for video chatting. It runs on a 2020 mAh battery giving longer back up and is available in Black, White and Red color.
Priced at Rs. 44, 000, the Butterfly will be the most expensive Android smartphone in the country. Although the features look excellent, at the heavy duty price it is being offered at, it would be interesting to watch the market response.
