The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, HTC has launched a new Android smartphone in China dubbed as HTC Desire 709d with a 5inch display. At the moment it looks like the phone will be sold in the Chinese market in coming days and there is no info if it will be rolled out to other markets or not.

It’s been just a few days since HTC One Max with a massive 5.9inch FHD display was announced by the company and now it has added a new phone in its inventory. HTC has actually released three different variant of this mid-range phone in China for different telecom operators with the model number 709d, 7060 and 7088.

Features wise, HTC Desire 709d comes with a 5inch qHD display with the resolution of 960*540 pixels which is bigger than the 4.5inch LCD 2 display of the HTC Desire 600. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor with Snapdragon 200 SoC along with 1GB of RAM memory and Adreno 203 graphics processor. It comes with a decent 8MP rear camera which is capable of recording videos in full 1080p quality with AF and LED flash.

It also comes with 2.1MP front facing shooter for video calling. It is having 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable via microSD card slot. Just like the other phones in the Desire series, it is also having Boom Sound speakers.

It is running on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and powered by a decent 2100mAh battery. It is a dual SIM network supported smartphone, so we can expect it to arrive in India too because the dual SIM smartphones in the mid-range segment are pretty popular here.
