HTC had announced its intention of launching the M7 at a media event being held by the company on 19th February 2013. Now, news has leaked that the M7 may not be the only phone to be released in this month, it is likely to be accompanied by two new handsets, the M4 and G2. However, we do not have confirmed reports on the exact date of release. The images and key specs of both phones were leaked online.
The HTC M4 is built on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform and appears to have a 4.3-inch display with 720 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone has a 13 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 and 1080 pixels video recording abilities, and a 1.6 megapixel camera on the front. The M4 has a 1700mAh battery. The M4 appears to be a high end smartphone if you go by its specialties and will probably come with a hefty price tag attached.
The HTC G2 has a 3.5 inch HVGA display and runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. It is powered by a 1.0GHz ARM cortex single core processor offering 512MB of RAM. The device comes with built in storage of 4GB with memory expansion via microSD card slot. It has a rear camera at 5 megapixels. It has a 1400mAh battery.
Right now HTC is pretty tied up with creating the hype surrounding the release of the M7 to be forthcoming about any further detail regarding the M4 or G2. Only a wait and watch can be recommended at this stage.
