Huawei IDEOS - Value for money?

Many mobile geeks and gadget lovers are looking forward for Huawei IDEOS U8150 Android-based smartphone. The reason is simple, when launched. IDEOS would be most affordable android froyo based Handset in India combining 3G, WiFi, Mobile hotspot facility (or wireless tethering as it is called) which allows eight devices to access internet by borrowing the bandwidth from IDEOS. Huawei has not unveiled the price but promised to keep it under $200. It is touted as the android-touchscreen-phone-for-the-masses. Huawei is developing this phone in partnership with Google and one can see the agenda behind google to promote android OS.


IDEOS U8150 features 2.8 inch capacitative touchscreen (but no multi-touch), 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus, 256 k colours and a resolution of 240x320 px. The phone operates in GSM Quadband frequency and has a built-in A-GPS Support. Has a battery of 1200 mAH.

IDEOS however would not give the users a good browsing experience as the handset does not support Flash. Huawei engineers claim that the processor is lower-powered and cannot handle the demands of Flash rendering. Combine this with the lack of multi-touch, you are bound to get not-so-great browsing experience. It's an entry-level phone and may cater to folks looking for budget android touchscreen smartphone.
