iBall launches Slide 3G-7303, a 3G enabled tablet

|June 16 2012 |tablet

Last month, iBall launched iBall Slide i7218, which was an up-gradation to its first tablet. Now the company has added one more tablet to its portfolio and thanks god, this time it comes with inbuilt 3G capabilities.

iBall Slide 3G-7303 also comes with the inbuilt mobile capabilities like calling and SMS. In addition, it has a standard USB port to support other forms of input like Pen drives, Keyboard, Mouse etc. Not to forget, the tablet also sports an HDMI port and could often be used as a TV screen as well.

All in all it looks like a complete tablet which supports multiple usage and could often be used as a mobile, computer, tv etc.

On the downside, it comes with Android 2.3 on-board and there is no word for up-gradation to Ice cream sandwich as of now. This is definitely a concern you should keep in mind before selling out around 15k for a device.

A quick spec-sheet goes as below:

  • 7-inch, 800x480 px, capacitive touchscreen

  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread

  • 1GHz processor

  • 2MP Front and Back Camera

  • HSPA+ 3G download speed up to 7.2 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5.76 Mpbs

  • 1080p HD videos support

  • Supports voice calling and SMSes

  • USB, HDMI ports

  • 4400 mAH battery

  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

The tablet has a best buy price tag of Rs. 15990, which looks justifiable considering the decent set of specs which place itself against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3100. The absence of Android 4.0 is definitely a point of concern and could come as deal-breaker to some. We will update in case we get a word form iBall regarding the ICS upgrade.
