Idea Aurus 4 Android smartphone launches in India for Rs.8999

The Indian telecom operator, Idea has launched a new Android smartphone in the country dubbed as Idea Aurus 4 for Rs. 8,999. The latest smartphone from the house of Idea is a 3G device with dual SIM network support. The phone is available to buy in all the physical Idea stores across the country as well as on its online store too.

“The young and savvy youth of India has a huge appetite for content on mobile, but is deterred due to highly priced smartphones in India. Idea is bridging this gap by offering 3G smartphones packed with high-end features at relatively low price. Idea Aurus 4 is the latest addition to our growing portfolio of 3G devices which is enabling a large base of Idea users experience 3G for the first time in India,” said Sashi Shankar, CMO of Idea Cellular.

Idea Aurus 4 comes with a 4.5 inch FWVGA display with the resolution of 480*854 pixels. The phone is powered by a decent 1.3 GHz dual core processor along with 512 MB of RAM. There is 4 GB of internal storage in the phone that is further expandable up to 32 GB using microSD card slot.

For imaging, Idea Aurus 4 offers a good 5 MP fixed focus rear camera and comes with a VGA front facing shooter for video calling. Idea says that it is trying to fill the gap of 3G smartphones in the country by providing decent devices in the budget price range. The Idea Aurus 4 from the telecom operator is the good example of its efforts towards this.
