Idea Cellular Crosses One Million 3G Subscriber Base

Idea Cellular is the third largest cellular network provider in India. Today, Idea announced its reach of One Million 3G users within a month of its 3G service launch in India. The resultant figure is interesting and it looks like a sign for a good network signals. In today's scenario at telecom industry, retaining the customers is very important and introducing new services is very much needed at the same time.


Idea rolled out its 3G services on 28th March, 2011 starting from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In the next phase, Himachal Pradesh, UP East, UP West, Maharashtra & Goa, Kerala, Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh. Now, Idea launched the 3G services covering 400 towns and planning to add 9 more circles. Based on the earlier news we can say that, Idea is committed to launch 10 new towns per day for the next 365 days. So, by the mid of 2011 it will cover some 750 towns and extend this to 4,000 towns by the end of FY12.

Idea Cellular is the first mover in offering time based usage billing plans of the 3G Services. To evaluate the unleashed 3G network speed, Idea introduced a Sachet plan with a day billing.
