IDEA launches 3G Services

Following Airtel, Aircel, Reliance and Vodafone, IDEA Cellular has launched the 3G Services across 3 telecom circles such as Madhya Pradesh & Chattisgarh, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. IDEA cellular would be rolling out the 3G services to more than 200 cities across 11 telecom circles by end of April.

3G Services by IDEA will allow customers to enjoy Video Calling, Mobile Television, On-demand Video, High speed internet and gaming. Depending on the handsets, customers can enjoy upto 21mbps of broadband speed. In line with other competitors, IDEA is also offering multiple options to experience 3G both in Pre-paid as well as in Post-paid.

To get IDEA 3G, the customers in Shimla, Ahmedabad and Indore should send an SMS ACT3G to 12345 or by dialing *147# (toll free) from their IDEA mobile phones.

Idea also announced the details of 3G Plans and Tariff. There would be three different patterns of consumption. Sachet Plans, Time-based usage and Data-based usage.


IDEA is also offering a USB dongle to experience 3G Speed internet connections. The dongles come in three different denominations such as 599, 750 and 1275 with a respective free data of 1GB, 2GB and 5GB respectively. A flat data-consumption rate of 5paise/10 kb would be applicable beyond the FREE data
