India Mobile Survey 2011 by CMR

CyberMedia Research recently conducted a survey to figure out the "Usage" and "Satisfaction" levels of Mobile Phones among Indians. The study was named as "India Mobile Handsets Usage and Satisfaction Study 2011".

The survey highlighted the set of factors that influence the purchasing decision among Indian users. The factors were: Durability, Brand Awareness, Easy Availability, Efficient After-sales, Affordable prices and Availability of Features. Indian users are very feature conscious, applications aware and value conscious.

In terms of "Total Awareness", Global players are facing pressure from local and emerging players. Nokia and Samsung still lead the pack with an awareness percentage of 99 and 98 respectively. Close on heels are local players such as Micromax, Spice and GFive. This is very much in sync with the "Top Mobile Brands" statistics from the data gathered by 91mobiles. According to 91mobiles data, the top 10 brands are Samsung, Micromax, Nokia, Gfive, LG, Spice, Sony Ericsson, Karbonn, Motorola and Lava.




In terms of features, the most sought after features are MP3 Player, FM Radio, Digital Camera, Expanded Memory Slot and QWERTY keypad and touchscreen.
