Instagram is a free photo sharing application developed by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger at San Francisco. This amazing app allows users to share the captured photos on a variety of social networking apps including Instagram. This app termed to have a distinctive feature that gently trims the photo into square shape. Instagram is compatible with any of iOS 3.2 and above devices including iPhone, iPad and/or iPod Touch. Now, the company plans to launch this popular photo-filtering and sharing app to Android OS.
Instagram's Co-founder and CEO Kevin Systrom, announced the good news at SXSW (Southwest Music Conference and Festival) held at Austin, Texas and also had a demo session. Systrom announced the idea of launching an Android App in December 2011 at LeWeb and it took less than three months to develop for this platform. Instagram for Android OS is highly anticipated app and is currently under beta testing at their private lab. The iOS version was launched an year back and it got some 27 million downloads. Therefore, we can understand the craze for this app and probably derive the numbers for Android OS. Systrom said, "It's better than our iOS app and it means it is very very faster".
