2013 is regarded as the year of Smart Watches. Right from tech bigwigs like Samsung (Galaxy Gear) and Sony (SmartWatch 2) to one of the most successful crowd funded project (Pebble) and numerous fitness trackers (Nike FuelBand, Adidas MiCoach SMART RUN) and even countless upstarts (Fitbit, Basis, etc.) have ventured into this nascent category. All the companies are waging a war to be a part of our wrist to track our health, supplement the smartphone, etc.
Though, all this seems advanced, at best the watches are just an extension to our mobile device. They haven't been able to go beyond what we're capable of doing from our smartphones. It seems the companies are lacking a vision of how to make the smart watches an integral part of one's life, just like mobile phones. Undoubtedly, Apple can show the way of the future just like they did with MP3 players (iPod), Mobile Phones (iPhone) and even Tablets (iPad). So, we thought to ourselves what if Apple decides to launch a smart watch (which in any case is imminent as the company has patented iWatch name as well made couple of hiring for wearable technology)?
Apple is known for launching a completely refined product focusing on user experience in any category it enters. Hence, it would be an interesting exercise to conceptualize the iWatch. Instead of raking our minds ourselves, we turned towards you, the users, to suggest us what you would like to see in Apple's iWatch. To do this, we ran a contest on Twitter '#iWatchShouldHave' and what a marvelous response it generated from the Twiterrati. Within an hour of the contest, we were trending as No. 2 across India. In all, we got more than 1100 tweets suggesting the possible features of the watch.
While all the ideas sounded impressive, few of them were really intriguing as shown in the presentation below-
Smartphones have become a necessity in today's digital age. Be it browsing the web or connecting with you...
