Jolla's latest OS named as Sailfish is eagerly awaited around the globe. Now, a new video has been revealed which gives a good video demo of the new OS. This New Video offers a deeper look of its features. The New OS was shown on Nokia N950 handset.
The new OS supports innovative hand gestures, whose usage allows you one handed use Sailfish device without thinking of its screen size. The Customization features of this OS is good. The shortcuts on the lock screen, the color changing option of the UI elements when you change the wallpaper is nice.
As it supports multi-tasking, one can minimize apps and they will appear as cards on the home screen. One card can be customized to display real-time app info and its controls. The gesture features are the main focus of this OS. It lacks a back button, which generally major phones have. But going back option can be exercised by swiping from left to right on the screen.
Another usage of gesture control can be seen in pulley menu system, which selects items based on how far does one drags the screen.
The battery and Network signal can also be seen through a swipe away.
May be this OS is under development, but it looks that it is going to give a strong competition to other OS in the markets like Android, Windows Mobile OS, iOS, and the soon to be launched Blackberry 10.1 OS.
We are eager to know that whether Sailfish OS can beat Android or not?
