Karbonn A2 Plus, a sub-5k Android ICS mobile, goes on sale

Karbonn marks another entry in to the sub-5k segment by silently launching Karbonn A2 Plus. The 4-inch smartphone is on sale with online and offline stores for a price of Rs 4699. With this price, this is the cheapest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich powered mobile phone in India.

Karbonn A2 Plus is a dual SIM smart phone running Android 4.0 on its 4-inch capacitive touch screen. It is powered by a 1 GHz processor and like all other sub-5k Android phones, features a 256 MB Ram to complement. The 202 MB of internal memory can be expanded further up to 32GB via Micro SD card. The device boasts a 3MP rear camera and VGA front camera for video calling.

Karbonn A2 plus lacks 3G which could be a deal breaker. In addition to GPRS it can be connected to Internet and external devices via EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB etc.

Overall Karbonn A2 plus is a entry level Android device and successor of previously launched Karbonn A2. The spec sheet genuinely justifies the price. However, if absence of 3G is breaking your heart, you can consider going for Celkon A98 which comes with almost similar specifications but with 3G and 512MB Ram for a price of Rs 5699.
