Kobo launches Arc Tablet in India with 7inch display for Rs.11999

The Canadian manufacturer, Kobo has launched a new Android tablet in India dubbed as Kobo Arc Tablet with a 7inch display for Rs. 11,999. It is the first tablet from the company in the Indian market. As a special offer for the festival season of Diwali in the country, company is offering the tab for only Rs. 9,999 as a promotional offer. It is available to buy in the Croma, Crossword as well as in WHSmith stores across the country.

“Traditionally known as the land of storytelling, it was important to us that we enter the market with an offering that met the expectations of a discerning Indian audience who are passionate about the books they read,” said Michael Tamblyn, Chief Content Officer, Kobo.

Features wise, Kobo Arc Tablet comes with a 7inch multi-touch screen display with the resolution of 1280*800 pixels. It is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core processor along with 1GB of RAM memory for decent tablet speed. It is running on the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system version. It also comes with dual built-in front speakers SRS TruMedia sound.

Company is mainly focusing on the entry level Android tablet buyers with its latest tablet offering. Features of the device are good enough comparing to the price it is being offered at. Kobo stated that the Kobo Arc tablet is able to provide 10 hours of continuous reading or video back up with WiFi off. It also states that its first tablet in the country is able to provide 2+ weeks stand by time.
